On Your Lapel.

I decided that it was time for some new brooches for That Vintage - having experienced the popularity of the rectangle necklace and earring designs, I figured these would work as brooches too - just a fraction bigger, but not too big!

The four new rectangle brooches are now available at Etsy and Made It.

Tweeeet!

Such A Doll.

The gorgeous Amber all the way from Canada.
(click it!)

Amber sent me this lovely photograph of her modeling the Rabbit Love earrings that she purchased a couple weeks back, along with the Wren and Leafy Vine earrings - yes!

She bought three pairs!
What an absolute doll..!

I love seeing these sorts of things!
So if you have ever bought anything from That Vintage and you feel game enough to get behind the camera - be sure to hook me up with a photograph!

Don't be shy now...

Around & Around & Around.

Two new little dainty additions to That Vintage, the circle necklaces!
These are again, the shorter length and sit nicely around your collar bone area.
Dainty!

A Little Bella

The beautiful Laura of Violet Bella modelling her "Feather Ring" in which she won from one of my blog giveaways - doesn't she look divine?!
Well suited!

Thanks for the photo and blog mention Laura!

In Print.

I woke up this morning with a message on my facebook page saying:
"Nice piece in today's newspaper!"

(Click on the image to read)

Yay!
After weeks of waiting - it has finally been printed!
I love what Claire wrote, it is exactly what I had said, what the label is about and where I have come from - oh and the photo turned out half decent as well!

Doctor Doctor, Give Me The News

I have been feeling really average all week long - thought it was just a bit of fatigue...
My glands have been up, knots in the neck, aches and pains everywhere, headaches half way through the day, tired, woosey, shaky, light headed - the works.

I've attempted to do some Yoga this week on my wii fit - to help relax a bit; I feel like that frees up the knots and aches for a little bit of time - but it doesn't take long for them to return. (And I feel incredibly tired after it!)

So I've decided to finally use my voucher at the Roman Baths and have a hot stone massage, plus a trip to the Doctor for a quick check up. Hopefully nothing too serious going on...

Note to self: look after yourself.

Pretty Little Things.

My lovely friend Lacee wearing her "Breeze" necklace.

I love seeing photo's like this.
It is exactly why I create what I create, to see people loving it, enjoying it and looking cute enough to eat up!

Made It.

Late last year, I trialed Madeit.com.au - it went okay, I sold the few things I had listed, but then I kept feeling bad for having two online stores... Etsy & Madeit.
But today, I decided that I need to have a store on Madeit.
I need to make sure my little Australian lovers get the very best buy from me.

It's tricky with Etsy - it has been amazing to have so many sales to The States, but the poor Australians get whacked with a sluggish exchange rate and I hate to say it, but my overseas sales out number my local-lovelies.

This is my notice to you all.
To the Australian lovers of That Vintage!
You can now buy bits and pieces of That Vintage on Madeit.com.au - AND no need to worry about exchange rate conversions - the dollar price you see, is what you pay - save yourself some shrapnel and go shopping!

Oh and what a hoot!
I listed the Flight Necklace this morning and it has already made their Shop Guide today!

Dingle Dangle.

A little snap shot of what I am working on today...
(Amidst shop orders too!)

The new Dangle-Style earrings!

I got my lovely friend Natalie to test-drive one of these last night (as I don't have mine pierced - shock horror!) as I wasn't 100% sure on how they were going to look - and you know what, I was more than happy with them! Natalie has super long brunette hair, and they just sat so dainty against her dark locks - it was beautiful! I forgot to take a picture though... but I will get these photographed sometime (super) soon!

What I Miss The Most.

I miss my bedroom being just that, a bedroom.
I miss having a warm, cosy space - a bed piled high with blankets and cushions.
I just miss my bedroom.

Dreamy Bedroom

I do have a bedroom.

But it also doubles as the factory for That Vintage.

It is cluttered, oozing bad energy and always has a mess somewhere in it's midst.
I have two desk (plus a drawing desk shortly) - an entertainment unit, plus heaps of fabric boxes, stock boxes, boxes and mo
re boxes.
I have no other option at the moment, until I move out to my own place (when and if that happens this year, it is on the list...) - but I wish I could have a Storage Fairy pop over, wave the wand and make everything look half-decent with beautiful, clean storage ideas.

When mother and I visited Paris (crikey, nearly four years ago!) we went into Maison Du Monde nearly every single day. It was Christmas time then, and the shop was bursting with French inspired Christmas bits and pieces - it was amazing; the reason why we kept going back was to absorb all the energy, colour, texture and style that the French have.

Maybe I just need to take some serious time out (yeah, hand me about four weeks worth please!) so that I can really knuckle down and revamp my bedroom. I also wish my town had a Howard's Storage World... so many clever ideas from there!

I Have A (Pretty) Friend.

I have friends, no joke - I actually do!
But I have this one friend, who is pretty amazing.
She writes me letters and sends me cute things.
She is an online friend and an offline friend.
And I am embarking on a holiday to Queensland with her, in the thick of Winter.
Her name is Rebecca.
And she is beautiful.

Rebecca is a student (with lots of lovely brains which I hope to pick at in the future - marketing!) and a part-time (drop-dead-gorgeous) model.
I hope that one day, we will live close enough to each other, so that we can do lots of That Vintage photoshoots, and that she will then be THE pin up girl for That Vintage.
Check out Rebecca's blog.

Becky, I loveeeeeeee you!

Carrot & Coriander.

In the Hilbarn box today, there was an abundance of fresh, delicious goodies... but what caught my eye (and made my tummy rumble!) was a handful of carrots and a nice big bunch of fresh coriander.

I decided I couldn't put it off any longer...
I just had to make a batch of...
Carrot & Coriander Muffins.

And they are scrumdiliumptious!
(serve with a gin & tonic, of course!)

Ingredients:
Self Raising Flour - 1 1/2 cups
Carrots - 1 cup grated finely
Coriander - 1/2 cup chopped
Garlic - 1 tsp (or to taste)
Freshly ground black pepper - 1 tsp
Plain yoghurt - 1 tbsp (I used Greek Style yoghurt)
Tomatoes - 1/2 cup pureed (I used a tin of peeled tomatoes, drained, chopped)
Light Milk - 3/4 cup
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Salt - To taste
Olive Oil - 1 tbsp
Parmesan Cheese - sprinkle on top

Mix all of the dry ingredients together - add the oil, tomato puree and milk and mix just until incorporated, but do not over mix - add yogurt and mix - then slowly mix in the coriander and carrots.
Spoon the batter into a lightly-greased muffin tray, topping each muffin with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Cook for 20 - 30mins, 180C fan forced oven... until golden and slightly firm to touch.
Serve with tzatziki dip

(Recipe slightly modified - you can find the original here.)

Here We Go Again.

Another day, another cup of tea.
(Or twenty.)

Happy 15th February!
(Ha, say what?!)

The (Not-So) Terrible Two's.

So the day is here (and almost gone!) ...I'm not talking about Valentine's Day...
I'm talking about...

That Vintage's 2nd Birthday!

It was quite the event - I had to work my Bread & Butter job today, ho hum - the past two weeks of crazy Birthday Celebrations online were amazing - so many people took up the offer to be apart of the festivities and I bet those people will be over the moon when they get their purchases and see the extra goodie within the package! Ah, I love to give!

Rabbit Love Pendant

This seemed to be the most popular item over the past two weeks!

Here's to the year ahead!
Hip Hip!
Hooray!

Sometimes, You Should Just Stick To...

...Whatever it is that you do best.

I bought an icing kit today - pipe bag and nozzle type set up... found a relatively easy icing recipe and thought I was onto a winner.
I mixed the colours, to what I thought were, perfect... except in the photographs, the yellow looks a bit fluro-lime... not quite the shade I was hoping for.
I should just stick to jewellery.
Although, with saying that, I had a lot of (messy) fun and I kind of think my icing technique resembles modern graffiti art... or something?

Oh of course, the taste test.
YUM.

Everyday Is A Love Day.

But apparently this day is much more special.
I don't think it is.

Love should be shown everyday.

"The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas. The association estimates that, in the US, men spend in average twice as much money as women."

So if I get any Valentine's today (which I strongly doubt) it will tickle my heart slightly, but to receive a Valentine on a day that is not Valentine's Day, would make my heart melt even more.

Happy Loving!

Put A Pin In It.

I love when I stumble across (with help from others like Jocelyn from Flowerleaf!) cute, different bits and pieces that actually have a proper use and don't just collect dust!
How cute are these pin cushions with a difference

Getting Back To The Kitchen.

I am preparing myself for some major Chef hat wearing time in the coming weeks.
I am researching icing, food colouring and different ways of decorating the humble biscuit.
I am super duper buzzing with inspiration to get into the kitchen!

I haven't quite decided on a colour scheme yet... I am thinking yellow, lilac and blue - but I'll probably change my mind! And if I do come across them, I'll try and throw in a few of the icing decorations in the shapes of flowers - already made up of course, I don't think I am that nifty in the kitchen!

I love Tara's stitched baking paper bags for the cookies - I think I might give this idea a whirl with my own little twist! I also saw this idea on someone else's blog - my memory fails me as to who's blog it actually was! But nevertheless, such a neat idea! (And another sewing-machine exercise!)

And... I just purchased these gorgeous clay tags from
Marley & Lockyer - how cute are they! You should also check out the Marley & Lockyer blog... full of amazing finds, Ness has such flair and a perfect eye for interior design!

Dirty Thirty.

Just joking, thirty is not a dirty number...
It is the number of winners!

Hali of Halibu Valley is the lucky lady who has scored the Bird Garden Pendant!

Thankyou all so very much to those who entered the giveaway - your presence was greatly felt and truly appreciated!

A Garden Of Rose Thorns

I have been making oodles of these rings today - had them sitting on my desk ready to be put into stock boxes and the way that they were sitting just made think: "How ironic? Rose Thorn print... they look like roses in a garden showing themselves off!"
(okay, yes, I am completely over-worked-over-tired-totally-loopy!)

I have also just finished packing up a HUGE (no joke) box of stock for Thread Den in North Melbourne. They are getting lots of new goodies in this box - all of the new wooden rings, new wooden necklaces and tonnes of button earrings, brooches and pendants - I hope they treat the box like a mini-Christmas - I sure had fun packaging it all up!

Anyway, enough waffle...
The Bird Garden Pendant Giveaway closes this evening - I will then be drawing out the random-number to figure out who the winner is!
Get To It! Quick Sticks!

My Creative Space.

No beautification here!

I have two major desks in my room - once I make my bed of a morning, that also becomes a desk of sorts.
I won't be taking any photo's of said areas anytime soon - let me just paint the picture.

BOMB SITE.
Ha! The joys of creative-organised-chaos!

The Lovelies.

That Vintage has been nominated for The Lovelies Award!

I would love it if you showed your support by heading over to their site, commenting or tweeting and then crossing your fingers and toes in good luck!
How exciting :o)

Rainy Little Day With A Little Lost Kitty

It's amazing what you get linked up to via friends on Facebook...
I stumbled across this super sweet illustration by Clare from Rainy Little Day & Lost Kitty - how sweetly divine! Be sure to check out both of her blogs!
Clare is one of "us."
She gets a little kooky over art, wraps her chops around a harmonica and loves to skip stones.
Did I mention that her blog is just as cute as her illustration?

Tea Addict

Brew of choice:
English Breakfast with a dash of milk, no sugar- some say I'm sweet enough.

I'd Give Anything...

... for an Avocado right now.

I am on a bender - or something like that.
I have been having avocado on toast for breakfast for the past two weeks and oh my goodness... I am truly 100% definitely addicted.
It's rather scary, my mouth is actually strongly craving the buttery goodness of an avocado right now - it is a powerful feeling, I am almost tempted to call a cab and head to the supermarket to get a basket full of avocados... yes, it is 10:30pm... and no, I'm not pregnant...!
