But my decorations won't be mass produced this year.
So I am putting this out to you all.
Those of you who follow my blog, those of you who lurk (hey lurkers!) and those of you who randomly... or accidently(?!) stumble upon my blog...
How about you try your dardnest this silly season, to buy handmade.
Handmade goods have soul and spirit, there is a true heartfelt story of love, devotion, passion and committment from the heart embedded in every handmade creation.
Etsy is full of beautiful, amazing handmade goodies to suffice absolutely everyone who is anyone! I think I may have even spotted the perfect gift for my father, whom is SO hard to buy for!
Personalized Custom Silver Guitar Pick by LaPetiteFleur
My father is a rocker, he sometimes plucks strings, but generally he hits things.
He thinks he is a bit of a rockstar...
So buying him a drumkit, when has over 60 (approximately) doesn't really seem like the right gift!

You are absolutely right, those lanterns are magical.
Lovely lanterns! I am trying to buy local and handmade this season or make it myself.
Yay Wondeful Sophie! I have taken that exact pledge, to buy handmade or make my own gifts this year, I already have my eye on your earrings for the occasion. I love Christmas, I get all excited and feel like a kid again. I know it's not about the gifts, but I do love giving them!
Hi Sophie, I have committed myself to only buying handmade this year. It shouldn't be too difficult with all the lovely handmade markets popping up! I am concerned about buying for the men in the family...how many hand knitted socks is too many??? And would they take the gift of soap as insinuation that they smell?
Love the blog.
Rosie - thanks for your comment!
I suggest you read my latest entry.... ha! It may help with working out gifts for the male's in your life ;o)
Oh I'm completely signed up to making this one a handmade Christmas for all! Including the mostly unsuspecting but slightly terrified uncles...
