The Little Things.

And here they are!
Three more designs to the new That Vintage ring range.
You can now buy these online at
That Vintage.

Wooden It Be Nice?

This must have slipped my mind... or my mind has been busy with other things, but the lovely ladies at Style Collective have featured That Vintage in their Urban Style section - you can check it out by clicking here.

Admittedly, it makes it sound like I harvest my own wood from my backyard... haha not quite the case - although I do have a lovely little array of Tasmanian bush in my backyard - with all the critters and feathery friends to boot!

Zucchini Slice

I have been meaning to post this recipe since I received my first Hilbarn box!
5 Eggs
1 cup of Self Raising Flour
1 grated Zuchinni
1 cup of grated Tasty Cheese
3 rashers of Bacon diced
1 finely chopped brown Onion
1 teaspoon Olive oil
Salt & Pepper

Pretty simple really - combine all ingredients into a bowl, mix well, grease a baking dish
- pour mixture into baking dish, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, cook for approximately 40 minutes on 180C (fan forced) and wella!

We are having this for dinner tonight, and I have made a fresh salad from my latest Hilbarn box goodies, which includes: Roquette leaves, basil leaves, diced tomatoes, avocado, kalamata olives, spanish onion, pine nuts and my mother's secret salad dressing... that recipe will come later!

Yum Yum In My Tum Tum.

Our Kitchen.
One of my favourite rooms in my parents house... I spend a lot of time in here, being "resident chef" and all... it's so easy to move around, open and light - with little licks of red here and there... can you spot the birds?

All day long I have been thinking about how insanely good it felt to purchase and receive (support!) our first Hilbarn box. I said to my mum: "I feel like I've done something good!"
My tummy will DEFINITELY be agreeing with me tonight!

We were umming-and-ahhing about what to cook for dinner... we have so many vegetables at the moment, we decided to do a very simple, yet super tasty (and healthy!) Roast Vegetable Spaghetti dish.

We used from our Hilbarn box - one zucchini and a few cloves of garlic.

So simple...
Zucchini, red capsicum, mushrooms, red onion, asparagus and garlic are the vegetables.
Salt & Pepper, (good) Olive oil and a splash of Balsamic Vinegar... slow roast all of the ingredients.
Whilst cooking the spaghetti - I went out and picked some fresh basil leaves from our herb pot. Also, we toasted a few pine nuts.

Once everything had finished getting hot & steamy, we tossed it all together, sprinkled the pine nuts and basil leaves over the top and served warm, with a tiny sprinkle of Parmesan.

Yum Yum YUM!

A Fresh New Thing.

I must do a big fat virtual thankyou to Isis, for mentioning Hilbarn on her blog...
I am now a Hilbarn convert!

We got our first box this morning - earlier than I expected (first impressions last - over the flippin' moon!) and I couldn't wait to unpack it and gush over all the goodies.

In our lovely box we had...
five zucchinis, four tomatoes, punnet of blueberries, about half a kilo of cherries, a bunch of coriander, a bunch of lettuce (can someone confirm what sort of lettuce this is? rocquette?), a bunch of carrots and a bunch of spring onion.
All for $25!
We estimate that the value of these goodies in a big-name supermarket would cost almost double that... what a saving!

Everything was 100% fresh, in perfect condition and smelt/tasted/looked so amazing.
This has helped us out this week greatly, as we have relatives from New Zealand arriving in a few days time - no doubt the zucchini will go to great use in a gorgeous savoury Zucchini Slice... (which I may post the recipe later!) I'm also thinking a batch of fresh Blue Berry muffins are in order... and to compliment our BBQ on Thursday evening - Roast Pumpkin, Chickpea and Coriander salad - HEAVEN!

If you are sick of paying way too much at the big supermarket chains, only to be dogged-out by use by dates, floppy parsley, super soft potatoes and lack-luster herbs - then I strongly suggest you give Hilbarn a whirl.

They have a very convenient way of operating, including a trial basis (of two turns), home delivery or very accessible pick-up points, and a marvelous subscription style service - which I've just done! Great value for money - but more importantly, by buying from Hilbarn, you are buying from local growers/farmers/green-thumbed-talented-souls! Check them out!

Like Sardines.

I am trying to use up every single second of my waking day.
It's a struggle, because I do like to day-dream and wander off into space, but instead of the space of nothing-ness, I've been wandering into the space of creativity - planning - thinking - design.

I have finally started my first new illustration.
I have decided to do some illustrations from the photoshoot by my friend Ebony Bejah, for my website. I am so excited to get these pumped out - I don't want to ruin them though, it has been so long since I have held a pen to this creative-degree... I can't wait for it to all come together!

If You Go Out In The (Internet) Woods Today...

I figured that just about everyone who is anyone, has a Facebook page.
I have my own, plus a group page for That Vintage.
I made my group page ages ago, before I ever understood how it all worked, before I ever knew about "fan pages" - so therefore my group page is hard to find... hence why I am plugging it here.

That Vintage Group Page Link.
(If this fails to work - type in the search bar That Vintage and look for the above display picture.)

I have new designs almost ready for the next step - I am excited and thrilled with how they are evolving! I do feel that there is a "need" for an overseas holiday at some point this year, to give me some more inspiration to work with... hmm, maybe France again?!

The amazing flower stands on the streets of Paris.
I have never seen roses like this in my entire life.
The scent was more than overwhelming!

One person who never fails to lift my creative-spirits, is that of the beautiful, whimsical Tabitha Emma. Everything she does makes me feel super duper girly all over again! And it is obvious she has a love for tea, like I do...

Winter, Where Are You?

Some people get the mid-Winter blues - I don't.
Some people get the mid-Summer blues - I do.

Winter Styles by Aubin & Wills.

I miss Winter.
I miss rugging up and being cosy, the fashion, the fabrics, the boots, the stockings and tights and scarves and hats and the cold... the way you can see your breath as you breathe out.

These are now no longer available from the website, but my goodness, this has inspired me to perhaps get my nail gun out and do something similar... what a brilliant, simple yet unique idea for storage!

Could not have said it any better myself.

Cleanse Me Now.

I have decided to go on a Cranberry whirlwind adventure and rid my body of the bad stuff, through sipping this tangy beverage.
I just hope that this won't turn me into a Cranberry.

Coconut Cranberry Lip Balm by longwinterfarm

Check out longwinterfarm's Etsy shop - so many delicious goodies, from soaps to lip balms... I am struggling to imagine coconut and cranberry in one, although I'm sure it'd be delish!

I also splurged a couple days ago... why not?
And purchased a new jumper...
Yes, I am aware it is the middle of Summer here - but I am longing for the cold!
